A Fabergé gilded silver and guilloché enamel vesta or match case, workmaster Michael Perchin, Saint Petersburg, 1899-1903. The rounded rectangular case enameled translucent strawberry red over a wavy, engine-turned ground, the gilded silver mount chased with a laurel band, the hinged lid opening by means of a diamond pushpiece, the underside with gilt strikeplate. Struck with workmaster’s initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic, and 88 silver standard; also with scratched inventory number 6403. H. 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm).
