A Fabergé diamond-set gold-mounted purpurine pendant egg, workmaster Andrei Adler, St. Petersburg, circa 1900. The gold mount formed as a coiled serpent with a diamond set on the top of the head. Struck with maker’s marks and 56 gold standard. Height (not including larger suspension ring): 5/8 in. (1.7 cm).
