A Fabergé gold-mounted gilded silver and guilloché enamel belt buckle, workmaster Henrik Wigström, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917. Oval, the surface enameled lime green over a wavy engine-turned ground within borders chased with a dot and dash pattern, struck with workmaster’s initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic, 88 silver fineness standard, and scratched Fabergé inventory number 17133. 2 5/8 in. h x 2 in. w (6.6 x 4.9 cm).
The belt buckle was purchased by J.A. Stirling from Fabergé’s London shop in 1908. Stirling was General Manager of the Trustees, Executors, and Securities Insurance Corporation, Ltd., one of the largest firms of its kind.
