A Fabergé jeweled gold paper knife, August Holmström, St. Petersburg, circa 1895. Formed as a dagger, the cruciform terminal centered with an oval mixed-cut sapphire within a rectangular, raised bezel mount, the front of the fluted arms with entwining rose-cut diamond-set bands centered with cabochon rubies, each arm terminating with blister pearls, the arched guard piece struck on the reverse with workmaster’s initials and 56 standard. Length: 6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm), width over handle 2 ¼ in. (5.6 cm).
