A Norwegian silver gilt and plique-à-jour enamel serving spoon, Jacob Tostrup, Oslo, Norway, circa 1890. The oval shaped bowl is decorated in plique-à-jour enamel with a pattern of lavender and yellow blossoms and chartreuse and pale blue foliage against a transparent forest green ground, the handle similarly decorated with a yellow and red flowerhead and green leaves. The wide spoon was intended for serving berries or other fruits. Struck with maker’s mark and 925 silver standard. Length: 5 1/8 in. (13 cm).
