A pair of Russian porcelain platters from the Everday Service, Gardner Factory, circa 1780-1800. The platters, with wide reticulated borders molded with colorful blossoms including forget-me-nots and daisies, the cavettos centered with spring flowers including a cabbage rose bud and another rose in full bloom, with puce band about the rim. The floral motifs were taken from German Blumendekor but featured flowers as likely to grow in Russia as in Germany. The floral sprays are usually dominated by cabbage roses in full blossom, as is the case on these platters. The underside of the smaller with a Latin letter G in iron red, the larger with a star impressed in the paste near the foot. Dimensions: 11 5/8 x 9 3/8 in (29.6 x 23.8 cm) and 11 x 9 in. (27.9 x 22.8 cm).
