A pair of Russian two-color gold, transparent enamel and sapphire cufflinks, Saint Petersburg, circa 1908-1917. The square links enameled translucent white over a sunburst engine-turned ground, the upper corners set with oval cabochon sapphires in collet mounts, and set with arched, intercrossed green gold foliate mounts, the border of red gold, with oval toggles. Struck with 56 standard (equivalent to 14K), St. Petersburg city mark, and initials AA or Cyrillic AL in an oval incuse, possibly for Fabergé workmaster Andrei Adler or Imperial Court jeweler Alexander Lyubavin.
