A pair of Russian varicolor gold and natural pearl cufflinks, Moscow, 1899-1908. The links formed as miniature rose gold tennis rackets, the black patinated gold strings set with a natural pearl in imitation of a tennis ball, the surface of the yellow and rose gold toggles fluted, struck with Cyrillic initials VG, probably for Vasily Grishin. Length of tennis racket link: 5/8 in. (1.7 cm); length of toggle: 9/16 in. (1.5 cm).
