A Russian Imperial porcelain Easter egg with a floral miniature, Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, late 1850s to 1860s. The front of the egg centered with a miniature study of a bouquet including a large pink cabbage rose, an orange aster, daffodils, gerbera daisies, and delphinium, and greenery, all against a graduated sepia ground and contained within a gilt border engraved with a laurel band, the reverse with a band of gilt anthemia within bands of grisaille beads against a raspberry ground separating polished gilt partial bands. Height 3 1/2 in. (9 cm).
