A Russian faience plate with scene from the bylina “Solovey Budimirovich,” M.S. Kuznetsov Factory in Tver, 1870s-1880s. The shaped plate centered with a scene of a young woman looking at a beautiful Old Russian terem in wonder (a reference to the tale, in which Solovei Budimirovich builds three beautiful houses in a single night for Zapava Putyatichna, niece of Prince Vladimir, in attempt to woo her), the scene signed with Cyrillic initials at lower right, the border with colorful strapwork ornament, the underside with the factory’s blue stamped and impressed marks and number 10 impressed in the paste.
