A Russian gilded silver and shaded, cloisonné, and pictorial enamel cigarette case, Semen Kazakov, Moscow, 1908-1917. Rounded rectangular, the front of the case enameled en plein with a view of a peasant man in bast shoes outside a wood cabin, the image reserved against a ground of stylized flowers in shaded cloisonné enamel, the reverse enameled with a brightly-colored blossom in the Solvychegodsk style reserved within a frame enameled translucent aubergine and with flowers and bubbles against a turquoise ground, with red cabochon pushpiece. 4 x 3 in. (10.2 x 7.5 cm).
