A Russian gold-mounted silver and enamel cigarette case, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917. The hinged lid of the rectangular case centered with a coin of the period of Catherine II with the ground enameled red over engine turning, the coin with gold bezel, with gold-mounted blue topaz pushpiece. The gilt interior struck with Cyrillic maker’s mark M.C, probably for M. Saet, and 84 standard. Gross weight: 194 grams. 3 7/8 x 2 ¾ in. (9.7 x 7 cm).
