A Russian turquoise and pearl-set gold miniature pendant egg, circa 1900. Set with six cabochon turquoise centering a small pearl, all forming a blossom, with the stem and two leaves cast and polished. The larger suspension ring struck with obscured maker’s marks, 56 gold standard, and partial assayer’s initials, most likely Cyrillic YaL (ЯЛ) for Saint Petersburg district assayer Yakov Lyapunov active 1899-1904. Height including smaller suspension ring only: 5/8 in. (1.5 cm).
