Empress Maria Feodorovna: A Fabergé gold and guilloché enamel photograph frame, Michael Perchin, circa 1895. In Neo-Rococo taste, the frame of shaped form with four slightly indented lobes of different sizes enameled sky blue over a radiating, engine-turned ground, the oval aperture with a red gold bezel surrounded by a chased border, the border mount chased with scrolls and set with blossoms and foliage on all four sides. The back set with a red gold scrolling strut and ring struck with maker’s marks and 56 standard; the outer border struck with maker’s marks, 56 gold standard, and Fabergé scratched inventory number 55678. 3 1/8 x 3 1/16 in. (8 x 7.8 cm).
Empress Maria Feodorovna purchased this frame from Fabergé on 28 December 1896 for 140 rubles.
