A Russian porcelain oval serving platefrom the Everyday Service, Gardner Factory, circa 1800. Oval, with reticulated border, the cavetto centered with spring flowers including a cabbage rose bud & another rose in full bloom, the borders with smaller blossoms including forget-me-nots & daisies, with puce band about the rim. The floral motifs were taken from German Blumendekor but featured flowers as likely to grow in Russia as in Germany. The floral sprays are usually dominated by cabbage roses in full blossom, as is the case on this platter. The underside with a small blue-grey factory mark, a slightly obscured G.Dimensions: 8 x 6 3/8 in. (20.3 x 16.2 cm).
