A Russian silver gilt and cloisonné enamel bowl, Pavel Ovchinnikov, Moscow, 1899-1908. The upper rim of the gilded silver bowl with matted surface enameled with a band of brightly-colored stylized foliate and geometric motifs against a white ground between bands of forest green enamel beads, the lowest register with a geometric border in turquoise, white and blue enamel reminiscent of Russian folk embroidery or ornament. Struck with maker’s marks, 84 standard, and later Soviet control marks. Dimensions: 1 1/2 in. H x 3 1/8 in. D (3.8 x 7.9 cm). Gross weight 85.5 grams.
