A pair of framed watercolors by Charles Heath (or Karl Osipovich Khiss, 1826 England-1900 Saint Petersburg) of a white-capped river flowing between mountains and fir trees. Both are watercolors on paper. One dated 1898. The painter and linguist Charles Heath was one of the Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna’s teachers as well as an English tutor to the Imperial children. Dimensions: Viewable area: 6 1/4 x 4 in. (15.9 x 10.2 cm) and 7 1/4 x 4 3/8 in. (18.5 x 11.1 cm). Frames 10 1/8 x 6 7/8 in. (25.8 x 17.4 cm).
