A Russian gilded silver and niello tea glass holder, Moscow, 1873. The body engraved and decorated with niello in a scrolling floral pattern reminiscent of 17th-century Russian metalwork, the front centered with a scene of a driver with his troika pulling a heavy load, the upper rim pierced, the handle with thumbpiece, marked with Cyrillic initials PM of an unknown master, possibly an early mark of Peter, or Petr, Milyukov, who was thought to have founded his workshop in 1877. Dimensions: 2 1/2 h x 4 1/8 w in. across handle (6.3 x 10.4 cm).
