A Fabergé gold-mounted gilded silver & guilloché enamel cigarette case, workmaster August Hollming, St. Petersburg, 1899-1903. This elegant case with unusual detail is of excellent weight, enameled oyster white over a sunburst engine-turned design, the gently cantededges engine-engraved with an osier,or basketweave, ground; the mounts hand-chased with a dot & dash pattern, with gold-mounted sugarloaf cabochon ruby pushpiece. Struck with workmaster’s initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic, & 88 standard. Dimensions: 3 ½ x 2 7/8 in. (8.9 x 7.4 cm).
