A Fabergé silver & en plein enamel notepad cover, Moscow, 1908-1917, with scratched inventory number 25530. In the Russian Style, the hinged silver lid mounted with an enamel plaque painted en plein with a scene of a hunter on a white horse restraining a pair of Borzoi hunting dogs, almost certainly made in the workshops of the Imperial Stroganov School, the miniature held in a frame of columns reserved with cast & chased stylized spirals typical of the Russian Style, the hinged cover with pine cone finials at the ends, one removable & fitted with a holder for a pencil, mounted on a stained pine base, still containing a contemporaneous notepad with silvered edges, the reverse of the cover struck with K. Fabergé in Cyrillic with Imperial Warrant & 84 standard, the mount for holding the pad of paper struck with K. Fabergé in Cyrillic with Imperial Warrant & a circular kokoshnik mark for Moscow assay district as well as with the scratched inventory number, with another circular kokoshnik mark on the upper decorative row with the stylized swirls. Dimensions: length of cover 7 ½ in. (19 cm), width across pine cone finials 5 in. (12.7 cm).
