Description

A Fabergé silver gilt & shaded cloisonné enamel Russian Revival Style demitasse spoon, workmaster Feodor Rückert, Moscow, 1908-1917. The form of the spoon inspired by traditional Russian silver of the sixteenth & seventeenth centuries, the reverse of the bowl enameled with a stylized tulip surrounded by scrolls in shades of forest green, cinnamon, red, magenta, white, & blue, as well as a cell (on the left) filled with Rückert’s distinct bright transparent orange, all reserved against a mottled celadon green ground, the handle with a flat, flaring terminal enameled on both sides with a red & white daisy within blue & other colorful decoration, all against the same mottled celadon green ground that is on the back of the bowl. Struck with K. Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial warrant overstriking Rückert’s maker’s mark & 88 silver fineness standard. Length: 4 7/16 in. (11.2 cm).
