A Norwegian silver gilt & plique-à-jour enamel serving spoon, Jacob Tostrup, Oslo, Norway, circa 1890. The oval shaped bowl is decorated in plique-à-jour enamel with a pattern of lavender & yellow blossoms & chartreuse & pale blue foliage against a transparent forest green ground, the handle similarly decorated with a yellow & red flowerhead & green leaves. The wide spoon was intended for serving berries or other fruits. Struck with maker’s mark & 925 silver standard. Length: 5 1/8 in. (13 cm).
