A Russian kalkan jasper box in gilded silver mount, the box formed as a large egg, the lid mounted with an allegorical gilded silver terminal formed as a seated putto gesturing to a scroll, the mount containing the lower half struck with Cyrillic initials I.N. (И.Н.), possibly for silversmith Johann Neugron, & Saint Petersburg hallmarks circa 1895. 10 ¾ in. x 27.5 x 11.5 cm
