The oyster dish from a service for the future Emperor Alexander III, in the Neo-Rococo taste, the handle molded with shell & scroll work, partially gilded, with the Grand Duke’s Imperial cypher in puce, with darker puce borders enclosing two fine gilt bands. Dimensions: 5 5/8 x 4 3/4 in. (14.4 x 12 cm).
