A Russian gilded silver and cloisonne enamel jewel casket, Ovchinnikov, Moscow, 1908-1917. Of traditional rectangular form on bracket feet, with hinged dome-shape lid centered with a stylized flowerhead, with multicolor blossoms within scrolling enameled motifs against a stippled gilt ground, the borders with Neo-Byzantine ornament in shades of sky blue, green, and red, the shaped hasp with conforming ornament, the sides with hinged gilded silver handles. Struck with maker’s mark with Imperial warrant and 84 silver standard. Dimensions: H. 2 3/4 x W. 4 7/8 x D. 3 1/8 in. (6.9 x 12.3 x 7.9 cm).
