A beautiful Faberge gold mounted, gilded silver, enamel and diamond snuffbox, workmaster Feodor Afanassiev, St. Petersburg, circa 1899-1903 with its original Faberge scratched inventory number 23920. Of square form, the body of the box richly enameled in translucent opalescent white enamel over an unique wavy sunburst ground, gilded interior. The lid with a blank oval cartouche surrounded by a band of two color gold leaves, finished with a diamond set thumb-piece. Dimensions: 2 1/4 x 2 1/4  inches.

Condition: Contains a few small spots of professional restoration to the enamel, otherwise excellent condition.
