A Fabergé silver-mounted cut glass inkwell, Moscow, circa 1899-1908. The very heavy cylindrical lead glass (crystal) body with rounded shoulders, decorated with cut serpentine & diamond patterns, mounted with a spherical hinged silver lid decorated with chased & repoussé acanthus leaves, the collar chased with acanthus leaf tips, the interior of the mount gilded. The inkwell of solid glass with the ink receptacle forming the only void. Dimensions: 5 3/4 x 4 3/4 in. (14.6 x 12.1 cm).
