A Russian porcelain box, Gardner, late 19th century. Modeled as a chicken in her nest made in a wicker basket, the slip-on lid molded with the figure of a laying hen, the underside stamped with the iron red manufactory mark & with impressed numerals 944. Dimensions: 2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ (5.7 x 7 cm). Condition: Small chip to the inner rim of the base.
