A Norwegian silver gilt & plique-à-jour enamel serving spoon, Jacob Tostrup, Oslo, Norway, circa 1890. The oval shaped bowl is decorated with plique-à-jour enamel with a pattern of red & yellow blossoms & green foliage against a transparent white enamel, the handle also adorned with similar greenleaves & a red flower finial. The wide spoon was intended for serving berries or other fruits. Struck with maker’s mark & 925 silver standard. Length: 4 3/4 in. (12 cm).
