A rare Russian gilded silver & plique-à-jour enamel Easter egg & double egg cups, Moscow, 1908-1917. The double egg cups formed almost entirely of translucent plique-à-jour enamel, decorated with brightly-colored arched panels of translucent enamel in shades of strawberry red, turquoise, cerulean blue, navy blue, lavender, & forest green, the exterior ornamented with applied gilded silver cables & pellets, the interiors fitted with screw-in stands for conversion to two egg cups, struck with initials KO of an unidentified workmaster. Height of egg on stand 6 1/4 in. (15.9cm), height without 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm).
