Description

A Russian gilded silver & shaded cloisonné enamel beaker, Feodor Rückert, retailed by Gashkel & Shik, Moscow, circa 1908-1917. Of baluster shape, the body colorfully enameled with floral, biomorphic & abstract forms against a pale yellow ground, the flared foot & top with bands of geometric designs. Apparently unmarked by Rückert, but with Cyrillic mark G i Sh (Г и Ш) оf the firm of S.S. Gashkel & Ya.S. Shik. Height 3 in. (7.6 cm).
Solomon Gashkel & Isai Shik sold silver & jewelry at their St. Petersburg shop located at No. 32 Sadovaya Street.
