A Russian icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker with silver and cloisonné enamel oklad by Antip Kuzmichev, Moscow, circa 1895. The icon showing the saint at half length, dressed in bishop’s robes and holding the Gospels, the gilded silver oklad with arch-shaped aperture enameled with a border of scrolls and dots, the upper left and right and corners with stylized blossoms in Neo-Byzantine style, the cover struck with maker’s marks and 84 silver standard, the back of the icon covered with silk velvet and affixed with suspension ring. 5 3/8 in. h x 4 1/2 in. w.
