A Fabergé gilded silver and guilloché enamel miniature photograph frame, workmaster Johan Viktor Aarne, St. Petersburg, 1899-1903. Rectangular, enameled a bright translucent yellow over a wavy engine-turned ground, the bezel chased and engraved with dot and dash pattern, the rectangular aperture enclosed with beveled glass, probably original, the outer border reeded, the back with hinged scrolled strut, in original fitted wood case, containing later photograph of Tsarevich Alexei as a young child. Height 2 1/4 in. (5.4 cm).
