Grand Duke Paul (Pavel) Alexandrovich: A rare Russian porcelain Imperial presentation Easter egg, Imperial Porcelain Factory, Saint Petersburg, circa 1895. The front of the egg with the Grand Duke’s Imperial cypher in gilt & lilac Cyrillic letters surmounted by the Imperial crown, the reverse with the coat of arms of the emperor’s younger sons (i.e., not the Heir to the Throne, who had his own coat of arms), the upper aperture with a stylized gilt star, held on the original silk tassel. Length: 3 in.
