A Russian gilded silver, cloisonné enamel, & cut glass scent bottle, Saint Petersburg, circa 1908-1917. The square bottle with convex walls cut all over with a pattern of diamonds & stars, the screw on lid with cushion top, the top centered with a translucent red flower head within stylized floral swags, with white beaded border & a band of alternating green & blue lappets. The Cyrillic retailer’s marks (P i ? or П и ?) overstriking those of the maker, but the combination of translucent red & alternating blue & green lappets occurs quite frequently among items produced in the Ovchinnikov workshop. Height: 2 3/4 in. (6.9 cm).
