A set of twelve gilded silver, champlevé, guilloché, & plique-à-jour enamel spoons, Khlebnikov, Moscow, 1908-1917, retailed by Tiffany & Co. The set decorated as a demi-harlequin set, with six of the spoons enameled in one color scheme & the remaining six in another. The reverse of the egg-shaped bowls & both sides of the flat, shaped handles enameled with stylized floral & geometric motifs in shades of blue, red, green, & cream in champlevé, the ornament framing an abstracted foliate form enameled in lime green or strawberry red over an engine-turned ground, the bowls pierced with foliate ornament enameled in brightly-colored plique-à-jour, & with twist handles. The interiors of the bowls engraved with a monogram, the set contained in an original gilt-stamped fitted box of the retailer Tiffany & Co. lined in green silk. Struck with maker’s marks, 88 silver standard (equivalent to 916.6), & with the symbol of the Moscow District Assay office canceled according to rules governing items being exported for sale.
