A Russian gilded silver and shaded cloisonné enamel cigarette case, Varvara Baladanova, Moscow, 1908-1917. In Pan-Slavic taste, enameled on both sides with stylized tulips and pine trees in shades of pale mauve, forest green, cinnamon brown, lilac, and magenta, the ornamented panels separate by shaped bands of matted silver applied with scrolling cloisons, the borders and corners with stylized anthemia in turquoise, lilac, and peach against a translucent purple ground with floral bands, with blue hardstone pushpiece. 4 1/8 x 3 in.
