A Fabergé gold, silver gilt, & guilloché enamel photograph frame, workmaster Johan Viktor Aarne, St. Petersburg, circa 1895. The rectangular frame with projecting upper corners & bracket feet supported by cast finials, enameled a translucent chartreuse-yellow over a radiating sunburst ground, the oval aperture with a beaded border, all within a two color gold chased laurel leaf border from which are suspended cast & chased garlands, surmounted by a bowknot, the back fitted with scrolling gilded silver strut. Struck with workmaster’s initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic, 56 standard (the frame), & 88 standard (the strut). Dimensions: 4 1/8 in. H x 2 3/4 in. W (10.5 x 7 cm).
