This extraordinarily large service of 1,050 pieces in total was commissioned from the Imperial Glassworks for the celebrations of the Tercentenary of the Romanov Dynasty in 1913, although as engraved date beneath the manufactory mark on the underside demonstrates, pieces continued to be made even during World War I.
